How To Create Your Dream Business, Relationship, Job (IDENTITY SHIFTING)

Your dream life. The perfect business, the perfect partner, the perfect promotion. Everything you could ever want or need coming together. Sounds nice right? Just keep that image for a moment. Take a deep breath and really focus on what this ideal life would be like. Today, I am going to show you one of the greatest methods of going from 0 to a 10/10 man. This method is known as identity shifting.

Identity shifting is quite simply acting. You act as though you are someone else, trying to emulate their thoughts, so you can quit procrastinating and become fearless. Now, identity shifting can be harmful if you aren't responsible with it. It's a wonderful tool for becoming a better man but it should never be used to emulate someone other than yourself. Let me explain that better. You should ONLY emulate the behaviours of the best version of yourself. Let's go over some examples of how this may work and then I'll show you how to get clear on what the best version of you looks like.

Example #1

Okay. For this example let's pretend you are weak, skinny and underweight. For most men in this situation their ideal self, the best version of them, would be a strong, lean, muscly build with their head perched on top. This ideal version of them would eat good foods and enough of them to sustain muscle growth. He would exercise everyday. You can find this man using calisthenics and yoga to help his recovery on rest days.

Back to the weak and skinny version. What does he do? He procrastinates when he should be training. He takes days off when his muscles are sore. He doesn't respect that he needs to be committed to make change. How would this lower version of yourself become better? By acting as the better man! Exercising everyday. Eating good foods in proper volumes. Being disciplined because he knows this is how he will become his dream self. His best self.

Example #2

Another way to look at this. We will imagine you want to be an author. You want to write this amazing sci-fi trilogy and inspire thousands and thousands of kids to become authors. In your current situation you get home from your 9-5 job, cook dinner, eat, watch tv to unwind. Only after this do you start writing. After a full day of work, when you are most tired, you start your most important work of the day.

The best version of you doesn't delay writing until he's finally home and fed. The best you wakes up early to write before work. He writes when he has the most energy available and does everything else with what is left. This is a man who prioritises his dreams. He doesn't quit his job on a whim to appear successful. He works on his craft first, then his job, finally, when he is drained of all energy, he will waste time on movies and games to recuperate. So you should do the same in this situation. You know you procrastinate on writing and leave it until the end of the day, so get up early and prioritise writing.

Example #3

This final example will be relevant for many of you.  Imagine there is a girl you want to ask out. You belittle yourself saying she'd never say yes. You feel embarrassed at the thought of her rejecting you. Is this what the best you looks like? The best you has built his dream body. He's building his financial life, working on his business. He's taking care of himself and he knows if he asks her and she rejects him that it's fine. She doesn't have to like you and either way you know your worth.

The best you is always improving and trying. You can't get a 10/10 body overnight or a successful business or good mental health. You should be working on these to be the best you. In turn you will be the best partner possible. Here's the secret of this example. The best you, the better man, the better partner, is not scared by rejection. The best you asks proudly and handles the rejection as nothing more than a no. He moves on when rejected. He improves whether he is accepted or not. This is the best you.

The 4 Step Plan To Identity Shift (And Be The Best you!)

Step #1 - Identifying who the ideal you is.

Take a journal and a pen and write. That's all you need to do for this first bit. Write about the best version of yourself. What's his body like? What is his partner like? How does he make money? How much does he make? Where does he live?

At this point any question you can think to answer is important. We just want an honest profile of who you should become.

Step #2 - What does his day look like?

Turn the page over now and let's simplify this profile. Instead of worrying what he's like now, I want you to think of his daily routine. What does he do each day? When does he do it? If you can, work out why he does it and why he chose these times write that down as well. This routine gives you an excellent idea of what actions will aid you on your journey to becoming the better man.

Step #3 - How does he react?

This point isn't needed to reach the situation the best you would be in, but it will certainly make your life better with more joy and comfort. Ask yourself how the best version of yourself reacts to different emotions. How does this differ between mild and extreme circumstances? Use this as a guideline for how you react to situations and people. Being the best you isn't just about money, women and fun after all.

Step #4 - Take action.

Once this is all done, take action. I'm not saying to immediately adopt his lifestyle and never falter. Just take it as a guideline for how to begin improving your life. I would recommend having 5 or 6 tasks to complete daily when beginning. For example, mine at the moment are waking up at 8 am, reading, writing an article, posting on instagram and exercising. 5 simple tasks that I complete everyday before lunch leaving the rest of my day free for more aimless tasks that happen to appeal to me on the day. No matter what I do I am still working towards being the best me. Now it's your turn, do the same. Be the better man!
